Our vision

Neighbourhood Midwives is a dynamic new organisation and our ultimate goal is to make a real difference to maternity care in England.  Our vision and social aim is for every woman to have the choice of a positive experience of childbirth supported by a midwife she knows and trusts.

Campaigning through delivery

We currently offer a private service to women but are working towards providing our care within the NHS in the near future. Our passionate ambition is to secure a high quality, safe and comprehensive midwifery service for all women, regardless of their ability to pay.
Our self funded service is available now across London and in the surrounding counties including parts of Surrey, Kent, Berkshire and Hampshire and our longterm aim is to establish Neighbourhood Midwives' practices throughout England over time.

Our unique organisation

Conceived and developed by midwives, Neighbourhood Midwives offers a new and unique service with benefits for both women and midwives.

We are a 100% employee-owned midwifery mutual where every employee has a say in how we develop through ‘one member one vote’ and representation at board level.
We are also a recognised social enterprise – which means we are a business with a clear social aim, who commits the principle amount of any surplus we make back into helping the business achieve that social aim.
