SOUTH LONDON INDEPENDENT MIDWIVES
Ensuring that each woman feels supported and nurtured, able to make her own choices. Then she can relax and enjoy this time, recover and care for her baby, safe in the knowledge that we will be with her every step of the way.

Tina Perridge
Becoming a midwife was like beginning a new life for me. For the pregnancy and birth of my fourth child, I had been looked after by an independent midwife and the experience was life changing.
I have now been a midwife for over 20 years, always offering continuity of care and I am particularly passionate about postnatal care and breastfeeding support as I believe that this aspect is often overlooked and is crucial to a woman’s wellbeing.
I trained at King’s College and worked as an IM for 15 years before launching Neighbourhood Midwives along with 3 midwifery colleagues. For the next 5 years I continued to be part of the central team as well as providing midwifery care to my own caseload of women.
Following the closure of NM in 2019 I returned to Independent practice and resurrected South London Independent Midwives. I now work closely with Nicky Harris to provide care in South London.
Whilst I will care for the whole family, for me, it is really about the woman, ensuring that she feels supported and nurtured, able to make her own choices, so that she can relax and enjoy this time, recover and care for her baby, safe in the knowledge that I will be with her every step of the way.
I also teach antenatal preparation classes, offer postnatal recovery massage and closing the bones ceremony.

I have been a midwife for 30 years. A year after qualifying my husband Chris and I had the first of four lovely children: one hospital birth and the other three at home. I have worked both in the NHS and independent sectors, within hospitals and the community – and even in Egypt! My passion is supporting women and babies through the postnatal period. Although this is a crucial part of a family’s experience, it has often been a neglected part of midwifery care.
In 2013 I qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) which is the gold standard for breastfeeding support. I believe every woman should have access to skilled breastfeeding support, from birth, to optimise the experience for those who choose to breastfeed. It’s a privilege to journey with a woman and her family through this important passage of life.
Give me a call to see if I am the right midwife for you.
